Bitcoin dominance reached its highest level in three years, surpassing all other altcoins in the top 50 tokens by market cap. However, there are six altcoins that have managed to outperform Bitcoin so far this year. The best-performing altcoin is Dogecoin, with year-to-date gains of over 77%. Other altcoins that have outperformed Bitcoin include Shiba Inu, Stacks, BNB, Mantle, and Render. Bitcoin itself has seen a year-to-date gain of 54%, growing from $44,100 to $65,000. The increase in Bitcoin’s price has been attributed to institutional inflows into Bitcoin ETFs. Despite a marketwide sell-off, Bitcoin dominance reached a new three-year high of 56.5% on April 13. While Bitcoin has recovered, smaller altcoins have struggled and experienced significant price drops. Aptos and Uniswap were among the top tokens with the largest declines in the last seven days. Analysts predict that Bitcoin will continue to climb in the coming months, with a potential target of $80,000 if it can maintain its key support level.
