T-Mobile’s Deutsche Telekom MMS has entered into a partnership with Subsquid, a decentralized data platform, to operate dedicated worker nodes as part of Subsquid’s decentralized “data lake.”
As per a press release shared with Cointelegraph, the collaboration aims to enhance the security and effectiveness of blockchain data retrieval and delivery. Worker nodes within the Subsquid network process data queries and fetch the requested information from the data lake for data consumers.
In a written Q&A with Cointelegraph, Alexander Ebeling, co-founder of Web3 Unit Deutsche Telekom MMS, stated that this partnership would help “strengthen and secure permissionless data access” across Web3.
The collaboration comes after Deutsche Telekom’s recent decision to become a validator for Polygon, a layer-2 scaling platform for Ethereum, joining the network’s 100 staking and validation providers.
Dmitry Zhelezov, co-founder of Subsquid, discussed data handling, explaining that each piece of data is “cryptographically validated” to ensure “all the relevant data is authentic.”
When discussing data security, Ebeling emphasized that “security remains a paramount concern, as enterprise-scale systems are prime targets for cyber threats.” Zhelezov also mentioned the challenges of ensuring efficient data partitioning and implementing enterprise-grade security measures in a decentralized space.
Moreover, Dirk Röder, head of Web3 infrastructure and solutions at Deutsche Telekom, stated at the BTC Prague event that the firm has been running a Bitcoin node since 2023. In response to a question about “digital monetary photosynthesis” and Bitcoin mining plans, Röder confirmed that the firm would indeed be mining Bitcoin.
