Crypto education initiatives are gaining popularity in the midst of a booming industry. Recently, the organizers of the Women in Tech Global Summit 2024 announced their integration of Unstoppable Domain’s technology for their own Web3 top-level domain (TLD), called “.WITG.” This digital identity domain will be assigned to each participant and will enable networking, as well as provide access to education and training in the fields of blockchain and artificial intelligence.
According to a survey conducted by crypto exchange KuCoin, 88% of young adults from a global sample of 1,900 respondents expressed their eagerness to pursue careers in the blockchain space. Additionally, 75% showed a high level of interest in the Web3 sector. However, only 15% of the respondents claimed to have more than three years of experience in blockchain. In response to this, KuCoin launched the KuCoin Campus initiative, which organizes offline events at schools and colleges worldwide to educate students about digital finance.
Similarly, Bitget, a crypto exchange, saw over 6,000 participants on the one-year anniversary of its $10 million Blockchain4Youth initiative. More than 51 universities participated in this initiative, including University College London, National Technological University of Argentina, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, National Taiwan University’s Blockchain Club, and Philippines Ateneo De Manila University. These universities issued over 2,000 Web3 certificates to participants who successfully completed the courses and passed the final exams. Bitget plans to offer more scholarships globally and launch additional online courses to attract the attention of young individuals interested in crypto-related topics.
Even Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, co-founder and former CEO of Binance, is focusing on education after stepping down from his position in November 2023. CZ introduced the Giggle Academy, an educational initiative aimed at youth, fun, positive energy, and growth. He expressed his intention to catch up with the development phase once the initial phase is completed.
In November 2023, the Institute of Crypto-Assets, a scientific board, opened at the Léonard de Vinci Centre near Paris. Led by a committee of six practitioners, including Nicolas Bacca, co-founder of Ledger, and Pierre Noizat, founder of Paymium, the institute aims to advance research in the field of crypto-assets.
Overall, these crypto education initiatives are playing a crucial role in spreading knowledge and fostering interest in the blockchain and crypto industry on a global scale.
