Ankr Incorporates TON into Web3 API Services Catering to Developers

Ankr, a web3 infrastructure platform, has announced that it is integrating with The Open Network (TON) blockchain, enabling developers to create decentralized applications (DApps) for Telegram users. This integration will eliminate the need for node setup on TON, saving developers time and effort in building, calibrating, and fixing issues.

Telegram has an estimated user base of 950 million, making it a highly influential platform. Popular DApps on TON, such as Hamster Kombat, a tap-to-earn game with over 300 million players in just a few months, leverage TON’s blockchain infrastructure and operate directly within the Telegram app.

Through this integration, Ankr will provide remote procedure calls (RPCs) connections, allowing developers to directly interface with the TON network. This will enable them to execute transactions, fetch wallet balances, and retrieve ownership information. The TON RPC endpoints, deployed through Asphere, will be part of a globally operating network of blockchain nodes, ensuring low latency.

Chandler Song, co-founder and CEO of Ankr, expressed excitement about the possibilities this integration brings to the industry, as barriers to building are now removed. The TON blockchain also offers its own RPC services for developers, but Ankr’s integration simplifies node management complexities.

The TON Foundation, responsible for the TON blockchain, has recently chosen Axelar’s Mobius Development Stack (MDS) to connect its ecosystem with 68 networks. This stack enables developers to build DApps across multiple blockchains, eliminating the need for bridging solutions.

In September, the TON blockchain received a $30 million strategic investment from crypto exchange Bitget and Foresight Ventures. The funding aims to accelerate the development of TON-based applications, particularly games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin.
