The Ethereum Foundation website recently underwent alterations that eliminated any indication of the foundation not being under a confidential investigation. The modifications were made on February 26th, as per GitHub records, without any given explanation. Freelance Ethereum front-end developer, Pablo Pettinari, was responsible for implementing these changes. The text that was removed stated the following:
Pettinari explained in the GitHub description, “This commit removes a section of the footer as we have received a voluntary enquiry from a state authority that included a requirement for confidentiality.”
Additionally, a yellow canary logo was taken down. Cointelegraph reached out to the Ethereum Foundation for comment on the website adjustments, but no immediate response was received. This story is still developing, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
